Funny bunny

Bence makes me laugh everyday.
He has the most comical expressions, the sweetest little baby voice, and the most spunky little personality.
He is always busy.
If I had to use one word to describe him, it would be excited.
He's excited about everything.
His little arms and legs move constantly,
And he's always looking at everything around him. It's like he can't take it in fast enough.
He usually wakes me up by "talking" in his crib.
He speaks very emphatically. For a baby.

I realized that the best way to catch his baby-talk on video is to ignore him, and pretend like I'm doing something else while sneak-ily filming (unbeknownst to him)
Because the second I look at him, speak to him, or draw attention to him means total silence.
(On his part)

Bence is so much fun.
We have a blast together.
I just can't get enough of of his cuteness!

P.S. --> in some of the pictures below Henry tried to use one of our baby carriers...
Which didn't work out so well...mostly because Bence wanted to lean as far forward as he could the entire time. It didn't work out so well. (Remember how I said he's excited?)

P.P.S. --> in one of the carrier pictures Bence is smiling because he can see his reflection in our hallway mirror. What a ham, eh?

Sweet potato man!

Bence tried sweet potatoes today.
He's not so sure how he feels about them.

We had a god time though- he was plenty vocal and told me what he thought once he'd finished eating.

This boy beats any comedian I've ever seen.

He's so dang funny.

Old videos

Tonight i was playing with Henry's phone (since he commandeered my ipad)
And I found a few videos that I didn't know he had taken.
A few of them are older (I think pre-Christmas)
But I figured I'd pst them anyway.

It's so crazy how fast this boy is growing up! 

In some of these videos he looks so shrimpy.

Now he has lots of glorious chub in his thighs, arms, feet and fingers.

It's a good thing he's so cute.

Sometimes it's all that keeps me going thru the multiple wake up calls during the night.

Tomorrow we're going to try sweet potatoes.

We'll see if he makes a face this time.

My little man is entering the world of (somewhat) solid foods.
I can't believe it.
He didn't really seem to notice any difference, but he did really good with his intro to sweet peas.

Five months today!

It's been a busy weekend.
We had a 4 hour visit to instacare on Friday (for husband)
Multiple trips to walmart (I forget things even when I make lists)
And of course...little buddy- who is always a handful - turns five months today!

Henry has spent the weekend eating goldfish crackers and drinking Gatorade. We had a fun visit to the doctors office the other morning (thinking Henry had food poisoning)- which he didn't, but he was still really sick. After taking his blood pressure three different times and finding it too be super low ( try 103/58) they made him stay for an IV to make sure he wasn't so dehydrated before we left. And they ran some tests on his blood. And all the results were normal. possibly rotavirus, or some other nasty stomach bug....sadly the husband has been laid pretty low the last 3 days.

In all other respects things have been looks good. Bence keeps getting bigger and bigger (and bigger!) and spring is in the air. We went for a walk the other day and it was so nice out I only wore flip flops and a tee shirt- no sweater! Friday night I came home from a walmart run around 6:30 and it was still 70 degrees out. I have little red Beatles hanging out on my back door (where the sun hits it all day) and most of the snow has melted. It feels like spring!

Bence has been a little chatterbox lately. He keeps waking himself in the middle of the night talking to himself. He has really vivid dreams. he will actually laugh and cry while sleeping- which is alternately hilarious and heartbreaking. Sometimes he has a hard time waking up from a bad dream and he'll make sad, pouty faces in his sleep while crying. It really is sad. So I just have to cuddle him all the more.

Bence is already so precocious. While sitting on the couch he'll look at me with a huge smile and jabber away. It's one of the cutest/ funniest things he does now. The only downside is how elusive he is on camera. I have at least ten different videos of him sitting and staring me down- as soon as he sees he's being recorded he turns into a mute.

I kind of captured a little bit of his baby talk in this video- but he caught on to me pretty quickly.

We just love this little man so much. 

He has the sweetest dimpled smile, and the funniest little laugh.

He makes me want to hold him and cuddle him and never set him down.

(he also makes me want to never have children again and at the same time have ten more babies-- somehow...not sure how that works) 

We are totally, completely and irrevocably in love with this little bug. :)

4 months +2 weeks

Our little man is getting so big.
I feel like I say that at the beginning of every post, but it's true.
Uncle Cory came for a visit yesterday, and when we snuck into the bedroom to peek at Bence (sleeping in his crib) Cory was flabbergasted.
And then he said Bence's head was the size of a cantaloupe.

Right now Bence loves the following:

Laying under his play gym
Listening to mommy sing songs like "old McBence had a farm," and " twinkle twinkle little star."
Smearing rice cereal in his ears and all over his porky little belly
Warm Bottles
Games like "This little piggy" and "mommy/daddy's going to get you!"
Cuddling
Checking out every little thing within his range of vision during church and runs to wal-mart
Smiling
Sleeping on a giant mound of pillows
Laying on his tummy (only for a minute or two)
Playing with daddy
Taking naps in the rocking chair
Standing up

He really hates:
Waking up before he's good and ready
When mommy can't make a bottle fast enough
Laying on his belly more than a minute or two
When he can't move ( i.e. when I'm putting his arms through the sleeves of his shirt)
Naps (until he calms down and then he likes them)
When mommy isn't visible or leaves the room
When any of his desires are left unanswered for more than a split second
Being buckled into his car seat
When he doesn't have your complete and undivided attention
Being set down when he's already cranky

Bence is such a sweet little boy and has turned into such a charmer. Unless he's hungry and/or tired he almost always has an adorable, toothless grin on his chubby face. He laughs audibly and has continued his habit of being very vocal. He loves to squeal (and scream) when he gets really riled up (usually after daddy has wound him up in he evenings) and he has a super spunky little personality. He knows what he wants and lets you know about it right away.

His stats from his 4 month doctors appointment (2 weeks ago):
86th percentile for weight --> (he was only in the 50th per. at his 2 month appt.)
84th percentile head circumference
25th percentile for length -->(he was only in the 10th per. at his 2 month appt.)

Everyone says it, but I'm pretty sure my baby is the brightest, cutest, sweetest most adorable little man in the history of little men. i want to include real pictures from my actual camera (i have a bunch) but it will have to wait until my next post- here are a few we've taken recently.
