Fifteen Weeks!

It's Fifteen weeks already!
And movement has been felt!
Last night while I was trying to get comfortable enough to fall asleep
(an impossible task)
I felt a little shwoup in my belly.
It made me wonder if our baby will be an acrobat--
because even though I obviously can't see what's happening,
it felt like a little somersault or something.

We're still counting down the days till June 11!
Hopefully the Doctor will have a perfect view of our baby's privates so I can tell Henry
"Told you so!"
Or at least so we can start buying fun Baby stuff.
I didn't even know about all the baby stuff that you can buy.
Bouncy swings, crib liners, special sheets, dressers with compartments just for diapers, binky rings, nipples in every shape size and color!
But I'm not picky
the only things I want to buy brand new are a crib or pac n' play and a car seat.

In other news...
Our house is a mess.
You might think we're hoarders with of all our stuff stacked in piles,
perched on tables
and accumulating on every other available flat surface.
But the packing has begun!
We went through all our winter clothes on Saturday,
and it made me feel guilty for having so much. And I don't even have a lot compared to some.
I think it's because I only wear half of it,
and I can't bear to donate the rest of it because I have to make that pair of shoes worth the money I spent!
Thank goodness I have my skinny minny brother-in-law coming to haul it around for me.

We didn't take any pictures, but memorial weekend was pretty awesome.
Henry found out about this theater about 15 minutes away that gives students a discount.
That means we both got to see Avengers on Friday night for 8$.
That's right. Both of us saw a NEW movie for the price of ONE ticket.
We went again on Monday night and saw Dark Shadows with Johnny Depp.
Not saying anything new--but it was strange.
Still fun....but definitely strange.
This whole making-another-person-thing has made me tired enough that the majority of our free time we spend watching movies
or cable TV--which is pretty bad most the time.
But I'm dead beat!
Today I managed to make dinner before my body demanded a soft spot for my bony butt to sink into.
My first real meal after morning sickness?
Homemade manicotti (with crepes made from scratch)
and a nice big salad with lots of crunchy bits: red pepper, carrots, and...well...not so crunchy tomatoes.

I think Nana would be proud. =)

It's been a week and a half since I've updated.
Not a lot has happened.
No new Doctor visits-
But I have eaten two (mostly) three meals a day, EVERYDAY,
and the only time I have felt nauseous has been when I chug down a protein shake first thing in the morning.
Woo hoo! real food again!
I think our next trip to wally-world will be filled with real produce, baking goods, meat and cheese.
I think I'm ready to be back in the kitchen!
in other news, we've found a new residence and will be moving in the next couple weeks.
Henry's brother Levi
(the seven foot tall alien)
will be coming to stay with us for the summer and help us move.
He's also going to take concurrent enrollment courses from the BC for free-
which is pretty awesome for him.
And I'm not complaining because I'm not going to have to lift a thing.
I remember my Dad and my brother moving some bulky piece of furniture,
and when Cory lost his grip and dropped said piece of furniture on his foot,
my Dad said something along the lines of
"Control your pain!"

Isn't moving just the most fun ever?
I think the best part of moving and packing is (first) finding all the strange, random objects that you've accumulated and (second)
all the funny stories from how you ripped your couch, broke your bed frame or lost all your socks.
It doesn't seem so funny at the time, but down the road it's hilarious.
For some reason.
We are hoping that this new place will suit us for a couple years.
We are sick of moving every 6-12 months.
but most complexes try to increase your rent by 50 bucks + a month when your lease is up.
so it's usually cheaper to move.
Henry and I have never lived anywhere more than one year since we've been married.
That makes this our....sixth move.
In three years
Makes me tired just thinking about it!
It's really neat though, because we have been looking for the home that we will bring kishbaba home to-
and although this place isn't exactly perfect,
it's pretty dang good.
The bathroom is a little weird...and small
the bedrooms are a little cramped...
but the living room is massive
the kitchen is pretty great
we have a cold cellar in the basement
and we will have a humongous
green (at least for the next few months)
imacculate
Lawn!
And the landlord does all the maintenance.
and for a rental--it's pretty dang clean, which was my biggest concern.
So we will be all ready for family to come visit! (Heh HEM Coppersmith's! we mean you!)

In baby-land we are entering the second trimester
No movement has been noticed yet-but Nana Coppersmith has given some tips and tricks as to how you can feel kicks and squirms (i.e. lie on your back)
and according to my floating fetus in the upper right hand corner, I only have 179 days left.
That sure puts everything in perspective.
I never thought nine months could feel so interminably long.
Keeping busy with school and packing/unpacking will keep things busy, so hopefully the summer will be gone in no time!
(Not that we want it to go too fast)

I pulled my camera out to take the promised face and belly photos and the minute I pushed the power button and the viewing screen finally came up
it gave me the fated "no battery" excuse
and shut off.
I still managed to take a couple with my ipad
though it was terribly awkward and difficult to hold
which is why my arms and hands are in weird places

I still don't really have a bump unless I stick my belly out and hold my arms around my tummy. One  day soon!
(Please ignore all the spot marks on the mirror and the cords behind me--I haven't cleaned in ages)

My next appointment is June 11.
And we might have some pretty exciting news
boy or girl?
There's no guarantee they'll be able to tell
but when I waddle up to that office I'm going to make sure my eyeballs are floating
so they have as good a chance as any of seeing anything

Cory has predicted that it's going to be a girl born on the 22th or the 24th.
and apparently he is pretty good at predicting baby stuff
Only time will tell!

Until then, we'll just keep referring to our little skeleton as Kishbaba.

I kind of forgot to mention my official due date in our baby-announcing-post from a week or so ago.
Most of out family know, but for those who have forgotten or didn't hear
it's November 19th!
It's kind of awesome because that's the same date my beautiful cousin Brady  was supposed to have her equally beautiful daughter Poppy on.
Although I think she went a week overdue...which I'm very much hoping won't be the case with me!
Needless to say we are still psyched, enthused, excited, pumped--and in all other words: totally stoked about our new little person.
I've made dramatic dietary improvements since the last time I posted too.
Mostly because I rediscovered how awesomely amazing Ensure is.
So when I haven't felt up to eating solid food I've at least been able to drink it.
We bough a giant case at Sam's last Saturday and I've made a pretty decent dent in my 24 bottle supply.
I've already noticed that my disgust with most food seems to be ending! This is very exciting since I've been living on (liquid) food and the occasional sleeve of crackers, cheese sticks and cold cereal.
I've found renewed interest in butternut squash, watermelon (still), apples with peanut butter, cold strawberries and crisp cold green salads. And of course--steak! I haven't actually bought or prepared any....but it still sounds oh so good! Smothered in A1 sauce! A condiment my Dad has always found close to sacrilegious.

In other news, Henry and I got to go to our 12 (almost 13) week appointment last night.
Shortly after He asked me why we always wait at least an hour to actually see the doctor, we got to go back to the ultrasound room--
which is totally awesome.
Because I (apparently) have a doctor who is very generous with the Sonogram
and who uses it at almost every appointment without charging anything extra.
And I love anything that is free.

So here are some more pictures of our lovely little person! Who is totally obvious in the picture--unlike the first images we had of Kishbaba.
Which is the name Henry has dubbed our unborn Fetus because it means "small baby" in Hungarian.
(In case you wanted to know or were unsure, you say it like the breakfast food "quiche"+ baba--which I shouldn't have to explain how to pronounce)

Here they are!

This is the hardest to tell what it's actually a picture of--but if you look close, you can see the back view of the baby and the spine right down the middle.
This is a sort of side/profile view. The head is the most obvious body part, but arms are barely visible as well.
This is the freakiest picture... apparently skeleton jack is growing in my belly. When I pointed out to Henry the  obvious-ness of the little skull he was kind of perturbed. I think our peanut is just excited for Halloween.

This was an amazing visit overall. We got to hear the baby's heartbeat first which was totally awesome.
Then the doctor started probing my belly with the ultrasound.
And we actually saw the baby kicking and moving.
My Mom sent me a text this morning, and said that she isn't surprised in the least the a child coming from me and Henry is so active and busy.

I'm scared already.

The Doctor also showed us the angle they would try to use to see the gender of the baby.
And as he proceeded to move the probe
we distinctly saw little ankles cross over each other.

We have a little stinker in the making--

He/She already doesn't want to make it easy for us to buy adorably gender appropriate baby stuff.

All in all--it was completely and utterly surreal to see our little person moving around. It isn't that my pregnancy doesn't feel real.
Because the whole not-eating-or-keeping-anything-down has made it very real.
But to see our baby squirming all over the place
waving minuscule little fists and feet
and to see a little face
makes it all the more incredible.

We just can't wait to meet this little human who looks less and less like a dinosaur everyday!

face and belly pictures coming soon! Although I don't think it's true, several people have already made remarks that I have a bump.
Which I am still sure is just a pooch
since I don't have any desire to suck anything in anymore.
But I still want to take pictures of my face and stomach before they both balloon out of proportion
and I can't see my feet anymore.

One last comment: I have the most awesome hubbers ever-- so far this morning he has folded three baskets of laundry, changed the sheets on our bed, cleaned up my mess from our living room, and made two loaves of banana bread.
Which smell amazing in the oven right now.

Am I lucky or what?
